Tokyo Metro Unveils London-Style Station Sign at Ueno Station to Mark 100 Years of the Subway
JR Shikoku will introduce automatic ticket gates at Tokushima Station, with use starting on June 13.
In addition to tickets with a black back side purchased at Midori-no-Madoguchi ticket offices and automatic ticket machines, QR codes for tickets purchased through the Shikoku Smart Ekichan app can also be used. The gates will be available from the first train on June 13. JR Shikoku notes that the start of service may be delayed depending on construction circumstances.
Among Japan’s 47 prefectures, Tokushima Prefecture had been known as the only one without a station equipped with automatic ticket gates, but this situation will now be resolved. However, IC card tickets will continue to be unavailable for use at the ticket gates of this station.
