Tokyo Metro to Introduce One-Person Operation on the Ginza Line from June 27
JR Kyushu and JR West will hold the “Kumamoto DC Linked Campaign” from July 1 to December 31.
They will sequentially begin sales from June 17 of the “Kumamotto! Adventure Ticket” (2-day pass from 2,990 yen for adults), which offers unlimited rides on JR lines in the Kumamoto area, and the “Hakata ⇔ Kumamotto! Adventure Ticket with Friends” (2-day pass from 9,990 yen for adults), which combines a round trip on the Kyushu Shinkansen between Hakata and Kumamoto Station with a free-travel section in the Kumamoto area. These passes offer mainly unlimited rides in ordinary non-reserved cars on local and rapid trains on the Kagoshima Main Line between Omuta and Yatsushiro, the Hohi Main Line between Kumamoto and Takimizu, and the Misumi Line between Uto and Misumi. In addition, they will sell the “Kumamotto! B&S Miyazaki Ticket” (1,200 yen for adults), which can be added to either pass to ride the “B&S Miyazaki” bus between JR Shin-Yatsushiro Station and Hitoyoshi Interchange (IC).
They will operate commemorative wrapping trains and special trains. The conventional line 200 series wrapping train “Kumamon Adventure-go,” featuring the design of Kumamoto Prefecture’s mascot “Kumamon,” will run mainly on the Misumi Line between Kumamoto and Misumi and the Hohi Main Line between Higo-Ozu and Miyaji from July 4 to December 31. In addition, on July 4, a special train will operate between Kumamoto and Yatsushiro, and from late July to late August, a rapid train “Kumamon Adventure-go” with all-reserved seats will operate between Kumamoto and Aso/Miyaji. Furthermore, an 800 series wrapped Shinkansen will run between Hakata and Kumamoto/Kagoshima-Chuo from July 18 until mid-October, and departure ceremonies are planned at Kumamoto Station on the first day of operation for both trains.
A digital check-in rally will also be held from July 4 to December 31, in which participants travel on Kumamon-wrapped trains running within Kumamoto Prefecture and visit stations in the prefecture. Original goods will be given to users who scan the onboard QR codes with the JR Kyushu app. The “Kumadventure Stamp Rally,” which places stamps at 15 locations in the prefecture, will be held in a summer edition from July 1 to September 30 and an autumn edition from October 1 to December 31. The coverage of the Kumamoto area in the station stamp app “Ekitag” will also be expanded to 15 stations, including Arao, Tamana, and Aso, from July 1.
In addition, from July to September, there will be special operations and tours between Hakata and Kumamoto using limited express trains such as “Kawasemi Yamasemi” and the D&S (Design & Story) train “Aru Ressha.”
