JR Central Launches Tokaido Shinkansen Collaboration with “Chiikawa: The Movie – The Secret of the Mermaid Island”
JR Kyushu launched its new lost property return service, the “Same-Day ‘Hayak! Bin’ Lost Property Speed Return Service,” on June 17.
Using “Hayak! Bin,” the Kyushu Shinkansen’s rail cargo transport service, the company can return lost items—including smartphones, keys, medications, souvenirs, pouches, and bags—at a station as soon as the same day. The service covers lost property being held at Hakata, Kumamoto, or Kagoshima-Chuo stations, as well as items found aboard Kyushu Shinkansen trains. The collection station must also be one of these three stations.
For eligible lost items, customers can make an inquiry via “find chat” on the lost property page of the company’s website, or ask at a counter at one of the three stations. If the conditions are met, this service will be offered as one of the return options. Identification documents, such as an ID card, are required when collecting the item.
The fee is 2,500 yen per item, with the same rate applying between Hakata, Kumamoto, and Kagoshima-Chuo stations. At the time of collection, payment can be made at a Hayak! Bin counter using cash, credit cards, electronic money, or QR code payments. Valuables such as cash, perishable foods, dangerous goods, and items prohibited from transport under relevant laws and regulations are not eligible. Depending on the time the item was found and the time required for procedures, dispatch and collection may take place the following day or later.
