Philippine Airlines to Serve New York JFK Airport’s New Terminal 1
Philippine Airlines will begin operations at the new Terminal 1 of New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The airline currently operates three round-trip flights a week from Terminal 1 to Manila. New York is home to the largest Filipino community in the United States, with a significant demand for visiting relatives.
The new Terminal 1 is being constructed on the south side of the airport, replacing the current Terminal 1, the closed Terminal 2, and the site of the old Terminal 3. The construction is progressing in phases, with the first phase including the initial 14 gates set to open in 2026. Aiming for completion in 2030, it will eventually become the airport’s largest terminal, covering 2.6 million square feet.
Evacuation Airlines, Air Serbia, and Air China have already announced their entry, making Philippine Airlines the fourth company to do so. Air France, Etihad Airways, LOT Polish Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, and Scandinavian Airlines have also announced their intentions to operate flights to the terminal.
