Jetstar Japan Union Initiates Designated Strike
The labor union of Jetstar Japan, the Jetstar Crew Association (JCA), has commenced a designated strike.
Starting today, December 22nd, through January 7th, 2024, specific members and departments of the union will carry out the strike. Domestic flights and international flights departing from Japan are targeted, and there is a possibility that flights will be canceled during the travel season centered on the year-end and New Year holidays.
The union is demanding payments for unpaid wages for overtime work, as well as for reduced commuting allowances. Since December 1st, they have been conducting a strike by “refusing requests for work schedule changes.”
The Jetstar Crew Association, a labor union organized by pilots and cabin crew members, was established in July 2018.
