Japan Airlines (JAL) is running a “Double Miles Campaign for Exchanges from Foreign Currency to Japanese Yen” from January 19 to March 29.
When exchanging eligible foreign currencies into Japanese yen during the campaign period, JAL will award bonus miles equal to the standard miles, which are usually 5 miles per JPY 1,000. Exchanges from Japanese yen to foreign currency, exchanges between foreign currencies, and “automatic exchanges” that occur when making JAL Pay payments in Japanese yen with an insufficient yen balance (where the shortfall is automatically covered by converting from a foreign currency balance) are not eligible for mileage accrual.
The eligible currencies are the U.S. dollar, euro, British pound, Australian dollar, New Zealand dollar, Canadian dollar, Swiss franc, Thai baht, Singapore dollar, Malaysian ringgit, Chinese yuan, South Korean won, Hong Kong dollar, and New Taiwan dollar.
Eligible customers are JAL Pay members using either the “Shopping + ATM Course” or the “Shopping-Only Course.” Registration for the campaign during the promotion period is required. Bonus miles will be credited around the end of April. As the bonus miles are counted as campaign miles, they do not qualify for Life Status Points accrual.
