AIRDO and Hokkaido will continue to offer the year-round “Job-Hunting Support Discount Fare” on all routes.
The “Job-Hunting Support Discount Fare” was introduced in 2014 to support job-hunting activities for students in Hokkaido. In 2015, the eligibility was expanded to include job-hunting students enrolled at graduate schools, universities, junior colleges, and colleges of technology in all AIRDO destination cities, provided they complete the prescribed procedures with AIRDO. The fare has been available year-round since 2024.
To use this fare, students must present an “Approval Form” for the Job-Hunting Support Discount Fare issued by their school, along with a photo ID such as a student ID card. Reservations can be made through the member service “My AIRDO.” Tickets can be purchased by credit card on the website, with cash at convenience stores, or through travel agencies. The purchase deadline is within four days including the reservation date, although conditions differ for flights departing on or after May 19. For flights on or after May 19, a 5% discount is applied when purchasing round-trip tickets.
Through this initiative, AIRDO and Hokkaido aim not only to support students in Hokkaido, but also to reduce the travel burden for students living outside Hokkaido who wish to work for companies based in Hokkaido, thereby encouraging employment and long-term settlement in the Hokkaido region of Japan.
