Japan Airlines (JAL) will conduct a “Same-Day Delivery Trial Campaign.”
At three airports in Japan—Sapporo/New Chitose, Fukuoka, and Okinawa/Naha—the fee for the same-day baggage delivery service will be reduced from the regular 2,800 yen to 2,000 yen. The campaign applies to services used between March 1 and May 31. Reservations can be made from 60 days before the date of use.
With the same-day baggage delivery service, passengers can check in their baggage at the departure airport counter and then head straight to their destination without picking up their luggage upon arrival. The baggage is scheduled to be delivered by around 7:00 p.m. on the same day. There are restrictions on arrival time and delivery areas.
In Sapporo in particular, a large-scale concert is scheduled in March, and JAL is promoting the convenience of going directly to the venue without the need to search for coin lockers.
