Yokohama Receives Host City Handover for GREEN×EXPO 2027 on Osaka-Kansai Expo’s Final Day
Horai, the company behind Japan’s 551HORAI brand, known for its pork buns and ice candy bars, will revise its product prices from September 1.
The move comes as the effects of rising raw material costs, labor costs, rents, logistics expenses, and energy costs, as well as exchange-rate fluctuations, continue over the long term. Items affected include pork buns, shumai, pan-fried gyoza, prepared foods, eat-in and takeout menu items, bento boxes, ice candy bars, and chilled products.
Key revised prices include 10 pork buns for ¥2,500 (currently ¥2,300), 10 shumai for ¥950 (¥850), 20 shrimp shumai for ¥1,300 (¥1,200), and 15 gyoza dumplings for ¥660 (¥600). A 551 chimaki will cost ¥470 (¥430), 551 ramen ¥420 (¥400), a pack of two sweet bean paste buns ¥530 (¥460), a pack of two char siu buns ¥570 (¥500), and sweet-and-sour meatballs ¥460 (¥420).
Other revised prices include ¥400 for a large insulated bag (¥300), ¥350 for a small insulated bag (¥250), ¥800 for a microwave steamer (¥600), and ¥170 for an ice candy bar (¥160).
Among chilled products, a pack of four chilled pork buns will cost ¥1,080 (¥1,000), a pack of 10 chilled shumai ¥1,000 (¥900), a pack of 20 chilled shrimp shumai ¥1,400 (¥1,300), and three chilled 551 chimaki ¥1,470 (¥1,350). All prices include tax.
