
Finnair Cancels Approximately 80 Flights Due to Strike on July 4
The Transport Safety Board has announced the deployment of 6 investigators to the site of a collision between a Japan Airlines (JAL) plane and a Japan Coast Guard aircraft at Haneda Airport on the 2nd.
The accident involved JAL flight JL516, an Airbus A350-900 with the registration JA13XJ, flying from Sapporo/Chitose to Tokyo/Haneda, which caught fire after colliding with the Coast Guard aircraft upon landing. All 379 passengers and crew members of the JAL flight evacuated safely. However, while the captain of the Coast Guard aircraft did escape, the death of the remaining 5 crew members has been confirmed.
