China Eastern Airlines to Increase Flights from Okayama to Shanghai/Pudong from May 9th
China Eastern Airlines is set to increase flights on the Okayama to Shanghai/Pudong route from May 9th.
The airline currently operates three round trips per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. With the summer schedule starting March 31st, the service days will change to Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. From May 9th, additional services on Thursdays and Saturdays will be introduced, bringing the total to five round trips per week. The Airbus A319 with 120 seats will be used for this service.
This route was initially launched with two round trips per week in June 1998 and was increased to a daily service in March 2004. Following a suspension due to the impact of COVID-19 since February 10th, 2020, the airline resumed operations with two round trips per week on Mondays and Fridays from August 4th, 2023, and increased to three round trips per week from November 1st. In the fiscal year 2019, the number of passengers was approximately 57,000, with an average load factor of 70.6%.
