Ibex Airlines Begins Operation of the CRJ700 Dedicated Passenger Step Vehicle at Fukuoka Airport
Ibex Airlines has started the operation of the “CRJ700 Dedicated Passenger Step Vehicle” at Fukuoka Airport.
This special vehicle, equipped with stairs for boarding and disembarking aircraft at open spots, is an external, self-propelled boarding aid that can be installed after deploying the aircraft air stairs, allowing passengers to board and disembark without getting wet even in rainy weather, from the aircraft to the bus boarding point.
Considering the large passenger door opening of the CRJ700, the vehicle was jointly developed with Shinmei Industry and Centrair GSE Services. By providing a wider tread than the stairs equipped on the aircraft, it makes boarding and disembarking easier and safer. Additionally, it is equipped with a wheelchair lifter, achieving barrier-free access. Being self-propelled, the equipment can be quickly prepared for installation after the arrival of the aircraft.
