Japan Airlines (JAL) will establish a new company, JAL Aviation Future Lab, on July 1, to conduct research and study for the sustainable growth and development of the aviation industry.
The company aims to address rapid changes and complexities in the environment, such as Japan’s declining population, regional issues, and environmental impacts. It intends to promote objective research and study by incorporating not only aviation-related expertise held by JAL but also insights from external sources, including educational and research institutions. This initiative aims to contribute to the sustainable growth and development of the aviation industry and the realization of a safe, secure, and sustainable society.
The capital is 10 million yen, with JAL providing all the funding. Yoriyuki Kashiwagi, a JAL executive officer and managing executive officer, will serve as the CEO.
