Emirates Airline Unveils Special NBA Livery Aircraft
Airbus Delivers Its First A321XLR Aircraft to Iberia Airlines
Airbus has delivered its first Airbus A321XLR aircraft to Iberia Airlines, marking a global first in aircraft delivery.
The aircraft is equipped with two CFM International LEAP-1A engines and has a range of 4,700 nautical miles, which is 15% longer than the long-haul Airbus A321LR model. It also consumes 30% less fuel compared to all previous generations of competitor aircraft.
The service is scheduled to start at the end of November on the Madrid-Boston route, strengthening the network in the North American market. It will begin operations on European routes as familiarization flights. A total of 8 aircraft are expected to be introduced.
The configuration includes 14 seats in Business Class and 168 seats in Economy Class, totaling 182 seats. Business Class features leather seats that recline to a full flat position, each with aisle access, storage compartments, an 18-inch 4K monitor, and individual lighting. Economy Class seats, designed by Recaro with the CL3810 model, offer 4 inches of recline. Large overhead bins are available, and every seat includes Bluetooth connectivity for in-flight entertainment viewing, free Wi-Fi for messaging services, and USB-A and USB-C power outlets.
Christian Scherer, CEO of Airbus Commercial Aircraft, commented, “After 5 years of development, the latest member of the Airbus family is ready to join its first operating airline, Iberia Airlines. With the A321XLR, countless new direct flights will be launched, opening a new chapter in aviation connectivity. This is a proud ‘first’ for all of us at Airbus, as we continue to seek innovation and deliver value to our customers. We are delighted to share this special moment with our special customer, Iberia Airlines. Congratulations.”
