Kintetsu Railway (Kinki Nippon Railway Co., Ltd.) will launch a paid reserved seat service called “Suwareeru” on the Minami Osaka Line from June 1.
This will be the company’s first paid reserved seat service offered in standard rolling stock. One leading car of trains bound for Yoshino will be designated as reserved seating only, with a capacity of 36 passengers. The service will use the new standard rolling stock “Series 6A,” which will begin operation on May 19 on the Minami Osaka Line, Yoshino Line, Nagano Line, and Gose Line in western Japan.
The applicable train is the weekday-timetable express bound for Yoshino departing from Osaka Abenobashi Station at 6:50 p.m. It will not be available on weekends and holidays. The applicable section is between Osaka Abenobashi Station and Furuichi Station; beyond Furuichi Station, passengers may board and alight freely.
The fee is 300 yen, but as an opening campaign it will be sold for 200 yen until June 30. Reservations can be made via a dedicated website, with tickets going on sale from 5:30 a.m. on the day of travel (from 10:00 a.m. on June 1).
