
Chateraise Holdings Acquires Karatsu Seaside Hotel
The Westin Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, will offer a melon-themed afternoon tea, “Afternoon Tea – Green Melon –,” from May 16 to July 17.
The afternoon tea features Nishijima muskmelons grown in Kochi Prefecture. Sweets include seven items: a melon parfait, melon and lychee mousse, melon shortcake, melon and Ginzou salt clafoutis, whole-wheat scones with melon pulp, crème d’Anjou with melon sauce, and melon and herb blancmange. Savory items include six dishes: prosciutto made with Shiman-to pork from Kochi Prefecture served with melon and blinis, melon coconut soup, deep-fried conger eel with shiso aroma, chilled cha-soba (green tea soba noodles), a sandwich with Japanese Black wagyu beef ragout and avocado, and ox tongue pâté. Guests can enjoy a total of 16 kinds of drinks, including mocktails, coffee, and tea. On weekends only, roast beef made with Japanese Black wagyu from Miyagi Prefecture is also served.
The venue is Symphony, the restaurant on the 26th floor. The afternoon tea is offered in 120-minute slots from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Prices are 5,800 yen on weekdays and 7,300 yen on Saturdays and Sundays, tax and service charge included.
