ANA Expands Special Flight Ticket Measures Due to Typhoon No. 6
AirAsia Group has issued a statement denying some media reports claiming that operations of Philippines AirAsia will be suspended.
According to the group, all Philippines AirAsia flights continue to operate as usual. AirAsia Group regards these reports as a deliberate smear campaign aimed at obstructing fair competition in the Philippine aviation market, serving only the interests of those seeking to limit consumer choice and create a monopoly in the market.
Tony Fernandes, co-founder and advisor of AirAsia Group, stated that the airline transports around 7 million passengers annually within the Philippines and that its commitment to the country is unwavering. He also noted that the group is deeply involved in the development of new airport infrastructure, including Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila and Mactan–Cebu International Airport, and announced plans to deploy additional aircraft dedicated to operations in the Philippines.
Local newspapers had reported that the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) would order the suspension of Philippines AirAsia operations at government‑run airports due to non‑payment of 271 million Philippine pesos in airport usage fees that have been outstanding since 2021.
