
JASDF Cancels Blue Impulse Flyover in Tokyo for World Athletics Opening Due to Weather
Japan Airlines (JAL) issued an apology following the arrest of an employee of a contracted company on suspicion of stealing passengers’ cash at the security checkpoint of a terminal at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport in Japan.
According to NHK, shortly before 6:30 a.m. on September 13 (JST), security screener Ryu Matsumoto was arrested on suspicion of stealing 90,000 yen in cash from a passenger. He has reportedly stated that he has stolen about 1.5 million yen in total so far.
JAL stated, “We will promptly consider how to address this matter for affected customers and will provide information on our website,” and added that it will fully cooperate with the police investigation.
