The Westin Miyako Kyoto will hold a “Summer Meat Festival” buffet from July 1 to August 31.
The buffet will feature Western and Asian dishes inspired by meat dishes from around the world, such as Middle Eastern kebab, Brazilian churrasco, pizza topped with Korean bulgogi, and American-origin Buffalo chicken wings. The lineup will center on meat, including jumbo hamburg steaks shaped to resemble bone-in meat, spiral sausages, roast beef, and boeuf bourguignon.
In the Japanese cuisine corner, a variety of Japanese dishes will be offered, starting with nigiri sushi. At dinner, they will serve nigiri sushi using sea bream, tuna, red shrimp, simmered conger eel, salmon roe, and more. In July, monthly specials will include chirashi sushi with pike conger and sansho pepper and seared simmered conger eel, “teppai” salad of white Japanese cockle and Kujo green onions, and chawanmushi egg custard with fresh yuba and cream cheese. In August, specials will include steamed glutinous rice with eel, chilled corn chawanmushi, and simmered domestic beef and Kyoto-style grilled tofu sukiyaki style.
The dessert corner will feature July’s melon shortcake and August’s peach shortcake, matcha warabi mochi and kinako warabi mochi, acai bowls, ananas orange desserts, and more. Shaved ice will be mango-flavored in July and strawberry-flavored in August, and on Saturdays, Sundays, and Japanese public holidays, ice Paris-Brest and chocolate banana desserts will also be offered.
The venue is “ALL DAY DINING RAKKU” on the 2nd floor. On weekdays, lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays, and Japanese public holidays, lunch is offered in two seatings starting at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Dinner is from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and in two seatings starting at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Japanese public holidays. In August, both lunch and dinner will be offered in two seatings every day.
The price for lunch is 7,000 yen on weekdays and 8,000 yen on Saturdays, Sundays, and Japanese public holidays. Dinner is 9,000 yen on weekdays and 10,000 yen on Saturdays, Sundays, and Japanese public holidays. From August 10 to 14, weekend/holiday pricing will apply. For each paying adult, one elementary school student can dine free of charge. All prices include tax and service charge.
