Hotel New Otani Makuhari in Chiba Prefecture is offering its “Afternoon Tea Set: Melon, Mango and Peach” from July 1 through August 31.
The top tier of the tea stand features the “Super Melon Shortcake,” made with Shizuoka Prefecture muskmelons with a sugar content of at least 14 degrees, along with strawberry shortcake, mango shortcake, mango roll cake and more. The middle tier includes mango jelly, peach jelly, fruit dumplings and melon scones.
The bottom tier includes a Japanese Black Wagyu smash burger, a Japanese Black Wagyu Mexican tortilla and a bamboo charcoal rice croquette. Also served are chilled corn potage made with soy milk, an early-summer vegetable lomilomi salad, French fries and a peach parfait.
Drinks include more than 10 varieties of tea, such as Darjeeling, Assam, Nilgiri and Fruit Garden, as well as soft drinks.
The venue is the Penthouse Lounge “Bay Court Cafe” on the 24th floor. Service is available from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last orders at 5 p.m. The afternoon tea set is priced at 6,600 yen, while the window-side seating guaranteed plan with a welcome drink is 7,150 yen. Service charge not included for either option.
