Core Global Management reopened Gensen Itto Iwate Shizukuishi on July 1.
The property offers a total of 57 guestrooms: four Gensen Suites with open-air baths, two Grand Gensen Suites with semi-open-air baths, 12 Deluxe Japanese-modern twin rooms, and 39 Japanese-modern twin rooms. The hot springs draw directly from the Oshuku Onsen source, with no added water, heating, filtration, or circulation. The spring water emerges at approximately 45 degrees Celsius at a flow rate of more than 100 liters per minute, and is a simple alkaline hot spring with a pH of 8.3. The large public bath includes an open-air bath and a dedicated area where guests can experience “todo-ne,” a bathing method from Japan’s Tohoku region.
At the dinner buffet, guests can enjoy tuna nigiri sushi and sashimi prepared from a tuna-cutting demonstration, along with seasonal seafood, snow crab, roast beef made with Iwate Tankaku beef and other beef from Iwate Prefecture, tempura finished in the live kitchen, and wanko soba. The breakfast buffet features customizable seafood bowls with as much salmon roe, sweet shrimp, whelks, and other seafood as guests like, as well as Morioka reimen cold noodles and hittsumi dumplings. To commemorate the reopening, the hotel is offering plans with dinner and breakfast, breakfast-only plans, and discounted multi-night plans with dinner and breakfast.
