JR West to Operate Direct Trains from Shin-Osaka to Sakurajima Station for Expo Access Route
Tokyu Corporation has received approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for their operational plan towards the construction of a new airport line.
The implementation area extends from between Yakumoto Station and Kamata Station on the Tokyu Tamagawa Line to near Keikyu Kamata Station on the Keihin Electric Express Railway Main Line and Airport Line, with an operating distance of approximately 0.8 kilometers. The frequency of operations is expected to be about 20 trains per hour during peak morning hours and about 10 trains per hour during other times.
Additionally, the platforms at Tamagawa and Shimomaruko Stations on the Tokyu Tamagawa Line will be developed to accommodate trains coming from the Toyoko Line.
With these improvements, travel time between Nakameguro Station and the vicinity of Keikyu Kamata Station will be reduced from approximately 36 minutes to 23 minutes, and between Jiyugaoka Station and Keikyu Kamata Station from about 37 minutes to 15 minutes.
