
Hyatt to Open Japan’s First Alila Brand in Sengokuhara, Hakone in 2028
Sapporo Tokyu REI Hotel in Sapporo, Japan, will cease operations on August 31, 2027, following the expiration of its fixed-term building lease agreement.
The property opened in June 1980 in the Susukino entertainment district of Sapporo as Sapporo Tokyu Inn, and was renamed to its current Sapporo Tokyu REI Hotel in 2015. The hotel has 575 guest rooms and features a restaurant and banquet halls.
After closing, the property will undergo renovation work and is scheduled to reopen in 2028 under a new brand as a hotel operated by Tokyu Resorts & Stays. The banquet facilities will continue to be operated by Tokyu Hotels & Resorts.
In addition to this property, Tokyu Hotels & Resorts also operates Sapporo Excel Hotel Tokyu and SAPPORO STREAM HOTEL, which opened in 2024.
