Shangri-La Tokyo will offer a “Tropical Summer Festival Afternoon Tea” from July 1 through September 15.
Inspired by traditional Japanese summer festivals, the menu features seasonal fruits such as mango and passion fruit. The five types of sweets include: a chocolate banana cake; a fresh passion fruit doughnut styled like takoyaki, with chocolate caramel sauce as takoyaki sauce, pistachios as aonori seaweed, and shaved goji berries as red pickled ginger; a chocolate mint mousse shaped like a water balloon; and a mango almond jelly dessert inspired by goldfish scooping. The five savory items include a chicken consommé jelly and vichyssoise presented like a glass of beer, a grilled corn quiche, and a pork and pineapple corn dog. Three types of scones—classic, tomato & cheese, and grilled corn—are served with accompaniments such as clotted cream and cheese basil spread. For the all-you-can-order service, white peach cookie cream puffs are available.
The afternoon tea is served at The Lobby Lounge, the lounge and bar on the 28th floor. Hours are from noon to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays. The price is 8,580 yen, tax included, service charge not included.
